Are U2 INSANE to try on the 80 km! Fantastic spirit - loving it!

  • The starting line of the INSANE 80 km is the entrance of the impressive ancient orthodox Manastir Krka, where the first 1.5 km is steep uphill. You´re in for a fun start 🙂
  • Once up the hill, you´ll go for about 3 km on gravel/grass paths
  • During the following about 10 km you´ll be running on mostly (not only) flat asphalt roads on the plateau, passing the Burnum Amphi Theatre, the Burnum Principum as well as the majestic Manojlovac waterfalls
  • The following 4 km will be tougher (asphalt) as you first run a big descent down to Krka River level, before going uphill again after crossing the river
  • Now the surface changes to gravel/grass (rather flat) for 3-4 km, running on the countryside
  • Here comes, without doubt, the most technical part of the whole route, where you for about 5 km will navigate thru sticky bushes on very sharp chalk stones, always with the Krka canyon in sight. Advise: Take it slow (you will hurt if you fall), look for the black/orange route markers, and enjoy!
  • After this technical part it might be nice with an easier part, where you for 2-3 km will run flat on asphalt (some gravel side paths), before you reach the starting line of the CRAZY 50km (and TEAM Relay) events after 30 km. Here you will have refreshments & food.
  • The next 10 km are asphalt downhill before you reach the beautiful waterfalls of Roski Slap - also here is a water-/energy station
  • Between kilometer 44 and 60 you'll be struggling with long uphills and long downhills (some steeper than others), passing the villages Rupe & Dubravice. You'll definitely need to show your tremendous stamina here! The surface is solely asphalt, with water and/or energy on frequent basis.
  • With only about 20 km left to finish, you'll be coming to Skradin city, where we hope there will be plenty of people cheering & offering help.
  • Leaving Skradin uphill on a detour for about 15 km, first half on gravel roads (rather flat) until you reach the "Infinity Bridge" taking you over the highway, before you continue (mostly) downhill on asphalt on the way back to Skradin city, also here (like the whole route) you'll be running a roller-coast up & down!
  • The last 5 km will give you a treat towards the alluring finish line, where you will run on gravel roads right next to Krka River.
  • Finish line is at the astonishing Skradinski Buk waterfalls, where you'll be celebrated as a KRKA Ultra Challenge Finisher, treated with food & drinks! 🙂
  • Don't forget the Finisher Party (everyone is welcome, also friends & family), where we will have entertainment, music, food-/drink stands & a secret gift to be picked up!

Great! You're CRAZY enough to run 50 km - You will conquer this!

  • The starting line of the CRAZY 50 km (and TEAM Relay) events will have refreshments & food.
  • The first part is approximately 10 km on asphalt. First flat, then downhill before you reach the beautiful waterfalls of Roski Slap - also here is a water-/energy station. This is a rather easy start!
  • The checkpoint at Roski Slap will offer beautiful scenery of the waterfalls! You continue by heading uphill for a quite challenging 3 km on asphalt, before you'll be able to stretch out your legs on the plateau for a few kilometers, mixed gravel and asphalt.
  • Next is a 4 km long downhill (keep your balance!) passing the village Rupe
  • It's time again for a steep long uphill (2 km) to reach Dubravice village, all on asphalt. Here you really need your great stamina!
  • Well deserved you're up (or down) for a 4 km long downhill, going down to the city of Skradin, with hopefully plenty of people cheering & offering help.
  • With this extra energy, you'll ascend a hill for about 2 km around Skradin before you get a nice 5 km rather flat on gravel paths.
  • One last climb (at least a long one) for 2 km passing the "Infinity Bridge" taking you over the highway.
  • You pushed yourself quite a bit by now, but keep it up for the slightly descending road toward the next water station.
  • Only about 8-9 km to go. As the whole route, this final part is also very much up & down, with a few really steep & challenging hills to conquer. You continue with (mostly) downhill on asphalt on the way back to Skradin city.
  • The last 5 km will give you a treat towards the alluring finish line, where you will run on gravel roads right next to Krka River. Show your "can do"-attitude!
  • Finish line is at the astonishing Skradinski Buk waterfalls, where you'll be celebrated as a KRKA Ultra Challenge Finisher, treated with food & drinks. 🙂
  • Don't forget the Finisher Party (everyone is welcome, also friends & family), where we will have entertainment, music, food-/drink stands & a secret gift to be picked up!

Wow! A CRAZY Team running 4 legs of various length & difficulty!

  • The starting line of the CRAZY 50 km TEAM Relay (and individual) events will have refreshments & food.
  • LEG 1: This leg is approximately 10.4 km on asphalt. First flat, then downhill before you reach the beautiful waterfalls of Roski Slap - also here is a water-/energy station. This is a rather easy leg as it is mostly downhill!
  • CHECKPOINT Leg 1 - Leg 2. The checkpoint at Roski Slap will offer beautiful scenery of the waterfalls
  • LEG 2: This leg is about 13.1 km. You start by heading uphill for a quite challenging 3 km on asphalt, before you'll be able to stretch out your legs on the plateau for a few kilometers, mixed gravel and asphalt. Next is a 4 km long downhill (keep your balance!) passing the village Rupe, before it's time again for a steep long uphill (2 km) to reach Dubravice village, all on asphalt. This is a leg for the more experienced runner with great stamina!
  • CHECKPOINT Leg 2 - Leg 3
  • LEG 3: This leg is about 18.3 km on asphalt and gravel, a real roller-coaster ride. You start with a 4 km long downhill, going down to the city of Skradin, with hopefully plenty of people cheering & offering help. With this extra energy, you'll ascend a hill for about 2 km around Skradin before you get a well deserved 5 km rather flat on gravel paths. One last climb (at least a long one) for 2 km passing the "Infinity Bridge" taking you over the highway. The final push is slightly descending toward the exchange point. This too is a leg for the runner with the right mind-set!
  • CHECKPOINT Leg 3 - Leg 4
  • LEG 4: This leg is approximately 8.3 km. As all legs, this one is also very much up & down, with a few really steep & challenging hills to conquer. You start with (mostly) downhill on asphalt on the way back to Skradin city. The last 5 km will give you a treat towards the alluring finish line, where you will run on gravel roads right next to Krka River. This leg is definitely easier than Leg 2 & 3, but also require some "can do"-attitude!
  • Finish line is at the astonishing Skradinski Buk waterfalls, where you'll be celebrated as a KRKA Ultra Challenge Finisher, treated with food & drinks. AND, of course meet up the rest of your FANTASTIC TEAM! 🙂
  • Don't forget the Finisher Party (everyone is welcome, also friends & family), where we will have entertainment, music, food-/drink stands & a secret gift to be picked up!

  • Hopefully there will be plenty of people cheering & offering help
  • You'll begin by ascending a hill for about 2 km around Skradin. Don't be too carried away, save some energy! 🙂
  • Once up the hill you will have a fantastic view of Skradin
  • If you run uphill there is probably a downhill coming, which is definitely true here as you run down the streets of Skradin. The surface of the first 5 km is mostly asphalt.
  • One more rather steep uphill (but shorter than the first one), followed by an equally steep descent.

The purpose of the park is primarily to serve science, culture, education and recreation, while tourism activities have also been introduced for its visitors.

the FACTS

Fact #1: Within the former rather conservative running community, an evident new trend has emerged – more & more runners are curious/keen on trying different type of races to expand their views, as opposed to running the same race year on year trying to beat their PB.

Fact #2: Some may want to try other distances, or in new places, others may want to try another kind of race outside their comfort zone, e.g. a Swimrun or Ultra Marathon.

Fact #3: People do not necessarily want to beat a certain time but have other incentives for running races, and instead chase a greater total experience from their racing.

Fact #4: If you at the same time you are running can contribute to a good cause, this only builds on the experience.

Fact #5: In today’s extensive social media society more & more people also wish to share their experiences with friends & family – either as support along the race, but also to run together despite you might not have the same physical abilities.

Fact #6: This all put together made us seized the opportunity to organize a running race covering all the above aspects – KRKA ULTRA CHALLENGE!!!
